Who Are We ?

Master Gardeners Association of BC (MGABC) is a non-profit volunteer association based in British Columbia. We are an affiliation of local Master Gardener Chapters who work together to support the delivery of quality education to our membership and environmentally responsible gardening advice to the public. Our members come from all over British Columbia. Most are enthusiastic amateurs; some are experienced professionals — all have a passion for gardening.

What is Our Purpose?

We provide information about gardening to the community and educate people in environmentally responsible gardening practices. We share this information with the public and promote the enjoyment of gardening through a variety of volunteer projects & activities.

Did you know?

The Master Gardener Program started at Washington State University in the 1970s. The Program was formed to address a need to deal with an overwhelming public demand for information regarding local gardening questions and problems. Today Master Gardener groups can be found in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and 46 U.S. states.

Here in BC we have six Chapters who make up MGABC. Our Chapters operate in Vancouver, Victoria, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, the Thompson Shuswap, and Prince George.
