For Our Communities

Master Gardeners respond to questions in garden centres across the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and in the Okanagan.

Please remember to confirm with the venue beforehand as last minute changes are sometimes necessary.

We staff the VanDusen Botanical Garden Plant Information Line, write for local papers and speak to community groups.

We also participate in a variety of community projects. These include horticultural therapy programs in hospitals & other institutions; working with students & teachers in local schools; and “greening” projects in community parks & public spaces.

For Our Members

Master gardener students take part in a comprehensive training program covering all the gardening basics. Advanced training is available for experienced master gardeners.

Monthly meetings, a quarterly newsletter and an annual update seminar keep all members informed on the latest gardening news and expert advice.

Our members enjoy opportunities to volunteer with other gardeners in the community and participate in plant sales & exchanges.
